Kaduna State: Nigerian Customs makes seizures over N200 million

The Comptroller, Nigeria Custom Service, Federal Operation Unit, Zone ‘B’ Kaduna Command in North-West Nigeria, Albashir Hamisu psc(+) has presented goods worth N229,550,108.07 million naira as score card of seizures made between the months of July and August 2022.

Prominent amongst the seizures made by the Unit include 724 bags of foreign parboiled rice, 149 kegs of 25 litres of PMS and AGO, 227 cartons of foreign spaghetti and couscous, 191 sacks of foreign secondhand clothing and 16 units of used vehicles.

Hamisu revealed that a total of 117 seizures were made within the Zone between 30 June to 24 August 2022 of suspected contraband items.

In his address, he attributed the unit’s successes to information given by patriotic Nigerians, inter-agency synergy and effective performance management.

In their separate responses, the representative of Commander NDLEA ACN, Ali Ado Kubau and State Coordinator NAFDAC, Mr Nasir Mato in their submissions after taking over the illicit items respectively, appreciated the inter-agency synergy that exist between Nigeria Customs and other agencies.
