Kano APC Backs President Tinubu, Governor Yusuf for 2027

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano North Senatorial District have pledged to mobilise massive electoral support for President Bola Tinubu, Governor Abba Yusuf and the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, in the 2027 general elections.

The commitment was made during a high-level stakeholders’ meeting in Kano convened by Senator Barau, drawing party leaders, federal and state lawmakers, commissioners and grassroots mobilisers from across the senatorial district.

The gathering is seen as part of early nationwide political alignments as major parties begin consolidating structures ahead of 2027.

Addressing participants, the Deputy Senate President Senator Barau Jibrin said the meeting was aimed at reinforcing party unity and strengthening the APC’s grassroots machinery in Kano State, a key political stronghold in northern Nigeria.

He emphasised that Kano North would play a strategic role in securing a renewed mandate for President Tinubu and Governor Yusuf, stressing that unity and effective mobilisation would be central to the party’s success at the national level.

As part of efforts to deepen grassroots engagement, Senator Barau announced the donation of 26 vehicles and 141 motorcycles to local government chairmen, vice-chairmen, councillors and secretaries across the 13 local government areas of Kano North.

Chairmen and vice-chairmen are to receive vehicles, while councillors and secretaries will be supported with motorcycles to enhance political coordination and outreach.

According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Malam Ismail Mudashir, the intervention is designed to strengthen local structures and improve operational efficiency ahead of the next electoral cycle.

Other party leaders who spoke at the meeting described Kano as pivotal to the APC’s national electoral calculations, assuring of total loyalty to the party’s leadership at both state and federal levels.

Speaking on behalf of the 13 local government chairmen, Hon. Jamilu Danbatta of Danbatta Local Government commended the Deputy Senate President for what he described as sustained grassroots empowerment and pledged continued mobilisation efforts.

The Deputy Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Bello Butu-Butu, also lauded Senator Barau’s representation, describing his performance as impactful and transformative.

The meeting pledged to intensify mobilisation efforts in Kano North, positioning the district as a key contributor to the APC’s broader national strategy for the 2027 general elections.
