Kano APC Stakeholders Declare Support for President Tinubu’s Agenda

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State have unanimously passed a vote of confidence on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, expressing strong support for his administration’s efforts to address Nigeria’s socio-economic challenges.

The endorsement was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the party’s stakeholders meeting held in Kano.

Reading the communiqué, Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, a member of the House of Representatives who is the Chairman, House Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream), praised President Tinubu’s commitment to national development, highlighting the administration’s bold initiatives aimed at improving the lives of Nigerians. He reaffirmed the readiness of Kano APC members to actively support the realization of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The meeting also acknowledged the contributions of several high-ranking party leaders, including Deputy Senate President Senator Barau Jibrin, Chairman, House Committee on Appropriation, Hon. Kabir Abubakar Bichi, the APC 2023 gubernatorial and deputy gubernatorial candidates, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna and Hon. Murtala Sule Garo; as well as Senator Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila, Chairman Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream).

Commendations were extended to federal appointees from the state, notably the Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, Dr. Mariya Mahmud Bunkure, and the Minister of state Housing and Urban Development, Abdullahi Ata.

The stakeholders also recognized the efforts of Kano-based heads of federal agencies and parastatals.

According to the communiqué, grassroots interventions spearheaded by these leaders including youth and women empowerment programmes, scholarship schemes, and economic support initiatives, have played a crucial role in strengthening the APC’s presence and popularity in Kano State.

Bye-election:

With the bye-elections scheduled for August 16, 2025, the stakeholders expressed readiness to mobilize resources and supporters to reclaim all contested seats.

They pledged unified efforts to reinforce the APC’s electoral strength in the state.

Unity and Strategic Focus:

Ahead of the 2027 general elections, the stakeholders emphasised the importance of unity, internal cohesion, mutual respect, and strategic collaboration.

They resolved to work together to ensure continued party dominance in Kano and contribute meaningfully to APC’s success at the national level.

Discipline and Party Ideals

The meeting also stressed the importance of upholding party discipline, integrity, and loyalty.

Members were urged to remain committed to the core values of the APC and to conduct themselves responsibly in line with the party’s vision.

Solidarity with Ganduje

The stakeholders unanimously reaffirmed their loyalty to former APC National Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Ganduje, commending his leadership and landmark achievements during his tenure.

Among his notable accomplishments were the establishment of the Progressive Institute, the initiation of the APC  e-registration drive, and the launch of a nationwide skills acquisition programme focused on youth and women empowerment. His leadership was credited with laying a solid ideological and structural foundation for a stronger and more resilient APC aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda.

“These milestones have positioned the APC for long-term organizational strength and sustained relevance across Nigeria,” the communiqué concluded.

The Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin was not present at the stakeholders meeting.
