The All Progressive Congress in Kano State north Western Nigeria has sworn in new Caretaker committee to stir activities of the party at the 44 Local Government Areas of the state.
The inaugurated leaders in the build up to 16th January, 2021 local council polls are 44 Chairmen, Secretaries, 484 wards leaders and women leaders expected to serve for six months before the convention to elect new executives next year.
The State Governor, Dr. Umar Ganduje taxed the caretaker officials to do all they could to garner large votes in the upcoming local government election, promising prize to the best performing council.
“I urged you all to work in peace and harmony in a bid to move the party forward,” the Governor stated.
Governor Ganduje said most of the officials were retained as members of the caretaker committee because of their performance towards flying the flag of the party high in the state.
The interim Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Abbas thanked Governor Ganduje for the trust he reposed on them to retain them as interim executive officers.
Abbas commended him for diligently steering the affairs of the party in the state and carrying everybody along.
“Governor Ganduje respects APC and all its members in the state. It is the reason the party is getting stronger always in the state,” he said.
Responding to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, it would never again allow inconclusive elections decide their fate in Kano, Abbas said the APC on their part would not hesitate to challenge any act of electoral violence in the state.
He also promised to work tirelessly to ensure that the party gets all the 44 Local Government Chairmanship and 884 Councillorship positions in the upcoming Local Government election in the state.
The Kano Speaker House of Assembly, Hamisu Chidari said “APC would not allow the election results be inconclusive as it would win with a landslide.”’
He urged the party members to rise up to face the challenges ahead squarely.
