Kano Central revamps education system with infrastructure development

The State of Emergency on Education in Kano State North West Nigeria is Receiving attention through the development of school infrastructure at both Primary and Secondary levels.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf declared a state of emergency on Education in the state about six months ago with a pledge to revive the sector and reduce out-of-school children.

The Governor also promised to increase the number of teaching staff and provide learning materials.

A visit by Voice of Nigeria to some Schools in Kano Central Zone indicates that new classroom blocks and offices are undergoing constructions.

The construction of a one-story building of 4 classrooms with offices at Abubakar Yusuf Government Junior Secondary School Hororon Kudu has reached the advanced stage of completion in Nassarawa Local Government.

Another one-story building of 4 classrooms with offices is under construction at Gadan Karfe Primary School Tarauni Local Government.

Also, the Construction of one story of 4 classrooms with offices at Namadi Primary School Jakada in Gwale Local Government is nearing completion.

Similar constructions have reached an advanced stage in, Ungogo, Kumbotso, Dala, Fagge among others in the central zone of Kano.

Besides the constructions, Governor Yusuf pledged to revamp the education sector for the overall development of the state.

He said, “As your elected Governor entrusted with the solemn responsibility of steering our state towards prosperity and progress, I cannot ignore the glaring reality that confronts us in the realm of education.

“And with education being our number one priority, and believing that education is not only a public good, but is also the greatest asset that any people can bequeath to its upcoming generation because no people can grow beyond the quality and standard of their education system, we must therefore take radical but practical measures to reposition education provisioning in our State.”
