Muslims have been encouraged to rededicate themselves to the sustenance of the Intense Worship being observed in the Holy month of Ramadan throughout their lives.
Imam Mu’azu Shittu Shanono of Al-Furqan Mosque Mariri in Kano state North West Nigeria gave the encouragement while delivering Eid-El Fitr sermon to a large congregation.
He said sustaining all acts of Ibadah is a sure way of purifying souls and getting more closer to Allah as well as attracting his mercies.
According to imam Mu’azu, Ramadan has thought Muslims many lessons including charity, forgiveness, tolerance and compassion as well as worshipping Allah.
“Please sustain the lessons by putting them into practice. Always put them in your mind as you go about your daily transactions. Teach your children to also practice them.”
Speaking on sallah celebrations, the Islamic Cleric reminded Muslims of the need to observe the festivity in accordance with the traditions of the Prophet Muhammad Peace be Upon Him.
He explained that the practice entails eating and drinking with family members, visitations, charity, and prayers to thank Allah for the successful end of the Ramadan fast.
Imam Mu’azu charged Muslims not to engage in acts contrary to the practice of Islam, such as taking intoxicants or organizing parties.
The imam led the congregation in a two units of salat as well as prayed for continued peace, good governance and Nigeria’s economic prosperity.
Some Muslims who spoke in an interview expressed gratitude to Allah for the successful end of Ramadan fast while wishing Muslims a joyous occasion.
