The Kano State Government has commiserated with traders who suffered losses in the recent fire outbreak at the Farm Centre GSM Market, which occurred on Eid-el-Kabir day.
The inferno, which ravaged the Dan Sulaika Plaza part of one of Kano’s busiest commercial areas, destroyed several shops dealing in mobile phones, accessories, and computer equipment.
The Deputy Governor, Aminu Abdussalam, in a statement by his spokesperson, Ibrahim Shuaibu, conveyed the condolences of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and the state government, describing the incident as a major setback not only to the traders but also to Kano’s economy.

“This is a tragic and painful event. Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf is deeply concerned. We are with the affected traders during this difficult time and will work to provide necessary support to help them recover,” he said.
He assured that the government remains committed to assisting the victims and helping them return to their businesses as soon as possible.
The Deputy Governor also noted that the administration is developing long-term measures to enhance fire prevention and safety in markets across the state, aiming to avoid similar incidents in the future.
