The Interventions of Kano State Government and the Islamic Development Bank IsDB in the provision of some basic facilities has improved Cow milk business in Kano state North West Nigeria.
The businesses are now booming, making Marketers generate N200 Million Daily.
In an interaction with journalists in Kano, the Chairman of the Cow Milk Marketers Association, Muhammad Allarama, explained that, the intervention of the World Islamic Development Bank and the State Government, have expanded their Markets drive.
He said Government through the IsDB donated to them over 100 Generating Sets and blending machines which were distributed to over 200 members now running business.
He called on Kano state Government to expedite action in making the 40 already built Milk Collection Centers across the State fully operational as doing so would ease the storage as well as exportation of their products.
He said, “the 40 Milk Collection Centers across the state were fully equipped and completed for a long time, however they could not understand why the Government refused to start operating the places”.
“If the 40 Milk Collection Centers are fully operational, I’m betting you that in the next few months, we will be transporting our Products to International Markets”.
“Today, our Storages facilities are the only problems we have with our Milks becoming waste as a result of lack of improper storages system and cooling cold rooms”.
Alaramma added that, with the Milk Collection Centers, their businesses would improve to a greater height, with our 20,000 members across the State benefiting.
Also speaking, Secretary of the Association Sunusi Sunusi said that they transport over 2 Million liters of Cow milk, calling for the provision of cooling vans to enable them transport their products.
He said, they Transport Cow milk from across the Northern region.
He appealed for the installation of Solar energy that would help them use effectively their blenders.
He Called on the State Government and the World Islamic Development Bank to support then with incentives that will help them improve their business.
