Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved key appointments aimed at enhancing governance and administrative efficiency in the state.
Dr. Suleiman Wali Sani, has been named the new Chief of Staff, Government House, Kano.
The appointment was confirmed in a statement by the Governor’s Spokesperson, Sunusi Bature.
Dr. Sani, a seasoned medical doctor, policy expert, and retired Permanent Secretary, brings over 40 years of public service experience to the role. Prior to this appointment, he served as Special Adviser to the Governor on Civil Service Matters.

He is a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, with additional qualifications from Bayero University, Kano, and the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru.
In a related development, Governor Yusuf has also appointed Major General Mohammed Sani (Rtd.) as the new Director General of Special Services at the Government House.
Major General Sani, a veteran infantry officer with over 35 years in the Nigerian Army, held several key command and staff roles during his service.
He is widely recognised for his contributions to peacekeeping, conflict resolution, and national security.
The reinstatement of the Office of the Chief of Staff, previously scrapped in December 2024, is part of Governor Yusuf’s broader reforms to improve governance and service delivery in the state.
Both appointees are to assume their duties with immediate effect.
