Kano Governor Appoints Shehu As Acting Head of Service

The Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has appointed Bilkisu Shehu as the new Acting Head of Service, following the immediate relief of Abdullahi Musa from his duties.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday evening by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature.

According to the Spokesperson, the decision forms part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to reposition the state civil service for enhanced efficiency, discipline, and improved service delivery across government institutions.

Governor Yusuf expressed appreciation to the outgoing Head of Service for his years of dedication and service to the state, wishing him success in his future pursuits.

The Governor directed that all responsibilities be formally handed over to Hajiya Shehu no later than Wednesday, 11 March 2026.

Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu, currently the Permanent Secretary, Administration and General Services at the Cabinet Office, will serve in the acting capacity until a substantive Head of Service is appointed.
