The Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has assented to the state’s N268bn annual budget for the 2023 fiscal year.
He signed the 2023 Appropriatiin Bill of N268bn into law in a brief ceremony that took place during the State Executive Council meeting at Government House, Kano state north Western Nigeria.
Earlier on.Thursday, the Kano State House of Assembly (KNHA), had passed the 2023 proposed budget, with an increase of over 23 billion naira to the appropriation bill earlier submitted by the state governor, Dr.Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
On November 4, 2022, the Governor had presented an aggregate sum of N245billion as the proposed budget for 2023 fiscal year before the State House of Assembly.
With the addition of N23 billion by the Assembly, the 2023 ‘Budget of consolidation and Prosperity’ now stands at N268 billion.
Ganduje appreciated the Assembly for the timely passage of the budget and the thorough work conducted during the process.
“We are so happy that you deliberated and finally approved the 2023 budget.”
”This budget is very important because many of our capital projects will be completed and a lot of initiatives have been put into the budget.”
He said it was his last budget as the Governor of Kano state.
