The Kano-Jigawa Professionals forum (KJPF), has expressed more commitment to intensifying mentorship of young professionals from Kano and Jigawa states to achieve greater heights in life.
The Chairman of the Forum, Dr Shamsudddeen Usman disclosed this during KJPF 3rd Mentorship Programme, held at Dangote Business School, Bayero University Kano (BUK).
He said the Forum, apart from mentoring young professionals to reach the peak of their careers, has been supporting the governments of Kano and Jigawa states, intervening whenever necessary, towards ensuring that they provide dividends of democracy to the people.
“The mentoring programme was conceived by the Forum towards encouraging them to embrace professionalism and advance in their various professions, with a view to developing their abilities and identifying opportunities in their chosen careers,” he said.
Dr Usman, former Minister of Budget and National Planning, said the 3rd Mentoring Programme with the theme: “Climbing Up the Ladder of Your Professions: Challenges and Opportunities,” was tailored to enable participants deepen their understanding of the opportunities inherent in their various professions.
“The Forum is designed to encourage them to be innovative in terms of using their professions so as to achieve self-realization as being witnessed globally.
“This time, also in a bid to widen the scope of participation in the programme, technology has been deployed, that has enabled e-registration and virtual participation in the event.”
During the programme, professionals from different fields, including engineers, Doctors, Pharmacists, ICT experts, communicators, educationists among others, delivered mentoring lectures to the participants.
