Kano State Governor in North West Nigeria, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has boosted ongoing security operations with the deployment of 10 vehicles and 50 motorcycles to the Joint Task Force (JTF), reinforcing the wider national campaign against banditry and insecurity.
The support targeted at improving mobility, rapid response, and operational efficiency will enhance security presence in frontline local government areas including Kiru, Tsanyawa, Kunchi, Ghari, Shanono, Tudun Wada, and Doguwa.
These border communities have witnessed increasing pressure from criminal activities spilling over from neighbouring states.

At a brief handover ceremony at the Government House, Kano, the allocation letter for the vehicles was presented by Umar Baba Zubairu, Director of Special Services, on behalf of the Director General, Special Services, Major General Sani Muhammad (rtd).
The JTF Commander, AM Tukur, was represented by his Chief of Staff.
Also present were top security representatives from the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and local government chairmen.
Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to complementing federal security agencies and supporting joint operations aimed at safeguarding lives, property, and stabilising communities.
According to the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature, the gesture underscores Kano’s contribution to national security efforts and its readiness to collaborate in tackling emerging threats across the region.
