Kano State Governor Bags SME Merit Award For 2024

Kano state Governor, Abba Yusuf has emerged overall Best Governor on Small and Medium Enterprise of the year 2024.
The meritorious award of excellence was considered by LakeWhyte Communications for Governor Yusuf’s giant stride on women and youth empowerment initiatives in Kano.
Presenting the award at the Government House Kano, Chairman, LakeWhyte Communications, Alh. Mohammed Lawal disclosed that, “the award was in recognition of the Governor’s tremendous contribution towards empowerment of women and youth through various programmes which includes disbursement of N50,000 capital to 5,200 women monthly.”
He revealed that the organisation spent days in Kano with his team to witness what the governor is doing in improving entrepreneurship through women empowerment.
Aliyu said, the board of directors along with other consultants and technical advisories met to assess the states to confer this award.
“We have noted with appreciation, the accomplishments of His Excellency the Governor of Kano State in empowering people and we can see it here, because the Governor has made it a cardinal point in his government and his administration to empower women, widows, youth and girl child.”
“It’s evident the massive turn out of women here present, also His Excellency has a lot of people in entrepreneurship and Small and Medium Enterprises, and we all know Kano is the centre of commerce.” He said.
Meanwhile, another award was also presented to the Governor by National Air Traffic Communicators Association of Nigeria.
The president of the Association Mallam Rabi’u Muhammad Sani presented the award to Governor Yusuf.
He said the award was in recognition of dedication and contribution of the governor towards the modernisation and remodeling of Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport.
The SME annual award was previously presented to Governors of Lagos, Borno, Katsina and Bauchi.
