Kano state governor, wife get chieftaincy titles in Ibadan
Kano state governor, Alhaji Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and his wife Hafsat have been conferred chieftaincy titles in Ibadan by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II,
The governor and his wife were bestowed the Aare Fiwajoye and Yeye Aare Fiwajoye of Ibadanland respectively on Saturday, June 18th 2022.
Describing the title as a bridge between the South West and North West, the Olubadan of Ibadanland said that the conferment would not only further cement the bond of friendship that has long existed between Ibadan and Kano people.
Recall the daughter of the governor, Fatima and the son of the former Governor of Oyo state, Late Abiola Ajimobi, Idris tied the knot in 2018.
The Governor in his appreciation remark, recalled the age-long friendship between Kano and Ibadan, saying that the two old cities would sustain the friendship and extend to other parts of the country.
“We are grateful to the Olubadan, Olubadan-in-Council and Ibadan people for honouring us with this prestigious titles.
“This gives us motivation and encouragement to do more in promoting unity. “ Mr Ganduje said.
Dignitaries like the former Governor of Lagos state, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Aminu Ado-Bayero, the Emir of Kano; National Assembly members and hosts of others graced the wonderful occasion.
