Gov. Abba Yusuf of Kano State has assured residents that the Hasiya Bayero Paediatric Hospital would resume work in a fortnight. The facility was one of the recovered public structures allocated to individuals by the immediate past Abdullahi Ganduje administration in the state. This is contained in a statement issued by his Acting Press Secretary, Malam Hisham Habib, in Kano on Sunday.
Yusuf said this in Kano while receiving the Emir of Gaya, Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir, who paid him a Sallah homage. He directed the Commissioner for Health, Dr Abubakar Labaran, to work round the clock to ensure the smooth restoration of the health centre. The governor assured that the present administration would continue to prioritise healthcare services to ensure smooth policy delivery across the state.
While expressing concern over the sanitary situation in the state, he reiterated the NNPP-led administration’s commitment to refuse evacuation and management. According to Yusuf, his administration is not pursuing any vendetta but working towards the progress of the state. He challenged critics to keep records of his work and judge him after he has finished his tenure, questioning why anyone in power can take public property and convert it for personal use.
Earlier, Abdulkadir told the governor that the emirate council have set up a vigilante group towards enhancing security and peaceful coexistence among residents
