Kano State: Police restates commitment to curb crimes

The Police command in Kano State, North West Nigeria says it is more committed in curtailing crimes across the state

The Police Commissioner, CP Muhammad Usaini Gumel who made this known in Kano, also reassured residents of improved security.

In Furtherance to the command studying the crime pattern and the drawing of an action plan which is domiciled along the pillers of community policing, the Police Command also synergized with the military and other sister security agencies and leverage on the State Government and the people supports by setting up of Joint Task Force committed for regular checkmating and nipping in the bud the threats and other isolated incidences of banditry, kidnapping and related offences along the border LGAs, bordering Kaduna, Katsina, Jigawa and Bauchi States.”

He noted that, the task force embarked on clearance operations in the identified areas where pockets of threats and kidnapping incidences, particularly in Falgore and Dan Soshiya Forests where many criminals were arrested and prosecuted for offences ranging from kidnapping, cross-border armed robbery, motor vehicle theft, abduction, illicit drug dealings and other criminal activities in the State.

“Generally speaking, community crimes especially incidences of banditry, kidnapping and related offences are cases where solutions cannot be found in isolation. The Kano State Police Command is always synergizing with the military, other sister security agencies, community policing stakeholders and the good people of Kano State to ensure lasting peace.”

The Commissioner of Police assures the people of Kano that, the Police Command will remain steadfast towards fighting all forms of crime and providing a safe and more secure environment for all residents the State.

“This can only be achieved when all hands are on deck as the issue of security is a collective responsibility that requires the commitment of all.”
