The Kano state Government in Northwest Nigeria has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to wade into the Chieftaincy tussle. Deputy Governor of the state Aminu Abdulsalam made the plea at a press briefing in Kano.

He appealed to President Tinubu to call those behind the return of the dethroned Emir Aminu Ado Bayero to Kano to order, which according to him has generated tension in the state.

“We are therefore appealing to the Federal especially the President and Commander-in-Chief Federal Republic of Nigeria Bola Ahmed Tinubu to call whoever is behind this to order so that peace will prevail in Kano.”

Gwarzo noted that “because of these demonstrations have taken place which if allowed to continue will cause a problem and it leads to a lot of loses.

We are shocked at the way things are going.”

The Kano Deputy Governor explained that Emir Sanusi’s reinstatement as the Emir of Kano has brought jubilations after following due process of the law.

Speaking on the court order restraining Emir Sanusi’s reinstatement, Gwarzo said, the Kano state Governor was not served with the order as well as the Attorney General, and Commissioner of Police of the state.

He noted out of the 8 respondents contained in the court order, only one was served, the Inspector General of Police.

He called on the people of Kano to be law-abiding as efforts are going to unravel those behind the current tension in the state.
