The city witnessed an extraordinary gathering for the union of Dr. Aisha Rabiu Kwankwaso and Fahad Dahiru Mangal, a marriage that has captured the attention of both political and business circles.

The historic wedding fatiha, held at the heart of Kano, was solemnized by the Chief Imam of Kano State, Professor Sani Zahradeen. In a fitting tribute to the tradition, a dowry of N1,000,000 was paid, marking the start of a new chapter for the couple.

Dr. Aisha, the daughter of Rabiu Kwankwaso, the influential former governor of Kano State and 2023 presidential candidate for the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), joined hands with Fahad, the son of Nigerian business magnate Dahiru Mangal, founder of MaxAir, one of the country’s leading private airlines.

The wedding was graced by high-profile figures, with Vice President Kashim Shettima serving as the Special Guest of Honour. Kano State Governor Kabir Yusuf had the honor of giving away the bride on behalf of her father, Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Among the distinguished attendees were the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abass; former President Olusegun Obasanjo; former Vice President Atiku Abubakar; former Senate Presidents David Mark and Bukola Saraki; and Labour Party’s vice presidential candidate from the 2023 elections, Ahmed Datti, alongside several other political and business leaders.

Vice President Shettima was warmly welcomed at the Aminu Kano International Airport by Governor Yusuf before the ceremony, which was followed by a grand reception at the Government House in Kano, where guests celebrated the union in a fitting display of joy and grandeur.

This event not only celebrated the marriage of two prominent figures but also highlighted the convergence of politics, business, and tradition in a vibrant display of unity and culture in Kano.
