Kano State trains 520 drug revolving fund operators

Kano State has approved the training of 520 Health facility Drug Revolving Fund (DRF) operators in order to increase access to quality and affordable medicines in all the Primary Health Centres across the 44 local Government areas in the state.

This was stated by the Executive Secretary State Primary Health care Management Board Dr Tijjani Hussain while declaring a 4-day capacity building workshop organised by the Board for the health facility Drug Revolving Operators at the six local government areas zonal offices of the Board.

The Executive Secretary, represented by the Director Pharmaceutical Department of the Board, Pharmacist Abdul’aziz Hamisu maintained that the training of the personal will fill the existing gap for that personnel who were not trained.

“It will also increase their capacity and job performance as well as to ensure that the teeming populace was protected from fake and substandard drugs and Medical Consumables,” said Hamisu.

He, therefore, urged the participants to make judicious use of what they have acquired during the workshop.

In his remark, the Zonal Director Nasarawa Zone, Abubakar S. Abdul commended the Board for its efforts in training and retraining of staff in order to make them more productive.

He then assured for their continued support for the success of the workshop at all the zonal offices of the Board.
