Katsina: Bar Association swears in new Executives

The Katsina branch of the Nigerian Bar Association has sworn in the newly elected chairman and members of the association.

The swearing-in ceremony which took place at the auditorium of the Katsina State High Court of Justice in Katsina followed the election of the new executives after a poll conducted last Saturday.

The newly sworn-in executives are Barrister Shafi’u Karfi as Chairman, Sani Wurma as Vice chairman Najib Idris Abdullahi as Secretary and Ibrahim Nasiru as Assistant secretary.

Other newly executive members who were elected and sworn at the ceremony include financial secretary Balarabe Danbaba, Publicity Secretary AbdulMalik Yar’adua and Welfare Secretary Ahmad Aliyu.

The rest executive members of the new NBA are Muhammad Lawal who is now the Social Secretary of the association, Shaima’u Commasie as Treasurer while Sa’idu Karkarku was sworn in as the Provost of the association

In his vote of thanks, the newly sworn in chairman of the NBA, Barrister Shafi’u Karfi promised to justify the confidence reposed in him by the members of the bar in Katsina.

Barrister Karfi who pledged to restore the lost glory of the profession also assured to unite all members for the development of the branch.

The inauguration ceremony also featured awards and certificate presentations to all former chairmen of the branch and some important legal personalities who contributed a lot toward the development of the justice system in Katsina state.
