Final preparations have been concluded for the burial of Nigeria’s former President, Muhammadu Buhari, in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State, in the North West region.
His remains are expected to arrive in Katsina on Tuesday afternoon from London, United Kingdom, before being transported by road to Daura for funeral rites and interment.

The funeral prayer is scheduled for 2:00 PM, after which he will be buried at his private residence in Daura.
Dignitaries and sympathisers have already begun arriving in Daura ahead of the arrival of the late President’s body.
In an interview, Mr Garba Shehu, former spokesperson to President Buhari, confirmed that the body departed London earlier in the day. “The body left London at about 7:48 AM, and we expect it to arrive in Nigeria within seven hours,” he stated.
Mr Shehu described the late Buhari as a principled and disciplined leader who dedicated his life to serving Nigeria. He prayed to Allah to grant him eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus.
Meanwhile, security has been strengthened in Daura ahead of the burial.
