Security operatives in Katsina state have recaptured a prison inmate awaiting trial, Abba Kala
This is after the recent escape of two inmates from the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Katsina on 17 October, 2023
The Nigerian Correctional Service, search party constituted in collaboration with sister security agencies is tracking the remaining fleeing inmate using the Service’s e-tracking system and will soon take him into custody.
The Controller General of Corrections, Haliru Nababa appreciated sister security agencies for a functional synergy that led to the recapturing and assured the public that there is no cause for alarm as the situation is under control.
In another development, Nababa informed that his administration has embarked on reforms geared towards repositioning correctional centres across the country and improvement of the inmates.
He commended the resilience of the officers and men of the Service in ensuring that the mandates of the Service are sustained.
