The Katsina State government has partnered with the National Institute of Transport Technology (NITT) in Zaria to train students at the state’s Youth Craft Centre on converting to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).
The Coordinator of the Katsina State Youth Craft Village (KYCV), Kabir Abdullahi, shared this information during a conversation with reporters in Katsina.
He noted that this collaboration aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, which aims to help alleviate the transportation costs that Nigerians are facing due to the removal of fuel subsidies.
“The collaboration also supports the initiative of Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Radda toward empowering our youth and promoting self-sufficiency,” the coordinator stated.
Abdullahi mentioned that once the collaboration begins, the Katsina State Youth Craft Village will be the first center in Nigeria’s 19 northern states to train youth in CNG conversion. The program will also provide training for other technicians in this field.
“Before the memorandum of understanding (MOU) between us and the Institute from Zaria, their delegation visited our facilities and expressed their satisfaction before we reached an agreement,” he explained.
Kabir Abdullahi reaffirmed the current state administration’s commitment, as well as that of the centre, to collaborate with various stakeholders to develop the state’s technological sector and promote self-reliance among youth.
He praised Governor Malam Dikko Radda’s administration for its visionary commitment to youth empowerment and self-sufficiency.
According to Abdullahi, this initiative also complements President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Transformative Agenda and reflects Governor Radda’s dedication to progressive leadership.
