Katsina State Governor Empowers 6,100 Vulnerable Women

Katsina State governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has flagged off an empowerment programme for 6,100 vulnerable women in Katsina State.

The Flagg off ceremony took place in Katsina with thousands vulnerable women took to their home complete start up business materials.

In his remark at the occasion, Governor Radda said the initiative is geared  towards enhancing entrepreneurial spirit among the state’s most disadvantaged female populace.

He pointed out that the empowerment programme focuses on the provision of complete starter packages for noodle-making businesses, equipping beneficiaries with the tools and resources necessary to establish sustainable income-generating. ventures.

“This strategic approach not only addresses immediate economic needs but also lays the foundation for long-term financial independence and family welfare,” Governor Radda said.

He emphasized the initiative alignment with the state government overeaching objectives of poverty reduction and entrepreneurship development, articulating a vision where empowered women become catalysts for broader societal transformation,

“When women earn sustainable income, the entire family benefits directly.

“This initiative highlighted the power of empowering women as a strategy for comprehensive societal advancement”, he noted

Also speaking, the Katsina state commissioner of women Affairs, Hadiza Abubakar Yar’adua maintained that the women empowerment initiative is geared towards improving the lives of women in Katsina state

“We believed that when women are empowered with knowledge, skills and resources, the whole society benefit, this is why this initiative is so important”.

She said the noodle making businesses were deliberately and carefully chosen by the state’s ministry of women affairs considering it’s profitable and skillable nature that can be easily run by women from the comfort of their homes

Hadiza Yar’adua said each of the 6,100 women will receive physical tools, noodle machine and 12.5 kg of flour

She called on the beneficiaries to use the package for the purpose it was meant for in order to transform their lives.

“The starter packages you are receiving is not just business opportunity but also a chance to transform your lives.

“We encourage you to work hard, stay committed and make best use of this opportunity you were offered”.
