A member of the board of trustees of the foundation, Mr Hussaini Kabir, disclosed this during the screening exercise of the patients at Katsina General hospital.
He indicated that the foundation had been conducting such free exercises every year.
He added that patients from from neighbouring states and countries are also attended to by the foundation.
Kabir explained that hernia and hydrocele patients that need surgery are usually referred to the laboratory for further investigation, after which we fix dates for their surgery.
“Those that need only treatment are treated and given free drugs before they are discharged.”
Kabir said that on Saturday, urology patients would also undergo similar screening exercises, also for the free treatment and surgery.
The foundation on Thursday, flagged off the screening of patients with eye problems.
Some of the patients expressed appreciation for the gesture, and called on other wealthy individuals, government and private organisations to emulate.
