Katsina State Pledges Commitment to Free, Fair, Local Government Elections

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda has directed the All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders to mobilize electoral support across the state in preparation for the forthcoming local government elections.
Speaking during the APC caucus meeting held at the Presidential Banquet Hall, Katsina, Governor Radda urged the party stakeholders to canvas for support in their respective local government areas.
He stressed the importance of achieving total victory through popular votes while ensuring transparent electoral processes.
“We are committed to conducting elections that reflect the true will of the people,” Governor Radda said.
He added that the All Progressives Congress focus is on a transparent, inclusive, and democratic process that ill strengthen the collective democratic experience.
Governor Radda further acknowledged Katsina State’s rich leadership heritage, citing his leadership journey, including his appointments during Nigeria’s former President Muhammadu Buhari administration.
Governor Radda equally highlighted the current President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration’s recognition of Katsina State through ministerial appointments and federal leadership positions.
Addressing critical needs
The Deputy Governor of Katsina State, Faruq Lawal Jobe, who chaired the local government election planning committee, elaborated on the Radda administration’s comprehensive achievements across health, education, agriculture, and human capital development. He assured the electorates of the governor’s continued commitment to addressing their critical needs.
The Deputy Governor also announced the procurement of grains worth approximately N9 billion for distribution during the upcoming Ramadan period.
He revealed that the state government has already stockpiled substantial quantities of millet, guinea corn, and maize, strategically positioned for timely distribution to citizens.
Additionally, the state government has finalized plans to procure fertilizer for farmers within the first quarter of the year.
“This initiative aims to ensure farmers receive critical agricultural inputs before the commencement of the rainy season, thereby supporting agricultural productivity and food sustainability,” Lawal said.
On his part, Nigeria’s former President Muhammadu Buhari reminded leaders on the advantages of transparency and accountability. He stressed that these principles are fundamental to earning respect and maintaining political popularity among constituents.
Also speaking, Senator Muntari Dan Dutse, on behalf of the state’s senators and Abubakar Yahya Kusada from Kankia-Kusada-Ingawa federal constituency, reaffirmed collective commitment to advancing Katsina State’s development. The lawmakers also pledged unwavering support for the APC’s electoral success.
Earlier, the APC State Chairman Sani Aliyu Daura said the caucus meeting is a forum to solidify the unity within the party. He thanked the former President Muhammadu Buhari and all relevant party stakeholders for their attendance.
