Katsina State To Host 2025 ECOWAS Food And Cultural Festival

Katsina State in North West Nigeria has been selected to host the 2025 ECOWAS Food and Cultural Festival, themed “African Cultural Values and Food Security for Peace and Development.”
This was announced by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Katsina State.
The festival, scheduled to take place in 2025, will bring together key players in the food security and security structure to proffer solutions to security challenges that hinder farming and agricultural production in Nigeria and other West African countries .
According to Governor Malam Dikko Umar Radda, the festival will promote African cultural values and food security, foster peace and development across the ECOWAS region, and attract investors in agriculture from the diaspora and within Nigeria.
The event will also create opportunities for event management, local markets, tourism, logistics, and other industries, benefiting the state’s youth and artisans.
Dr. Kabir Ali Masanawa, Executive Director/CEO of the Katsina State History and Culture Bureau, noted that the festival will drive demand for hospitality services, food, and transportation.
Ambassador Prince Felix Ihonre, Director-General of the ECOWAS Food and Cultural Festival, expressed his appreciation to the Governor for the warm reception and support.
The festival is expected to be a historic event, spotlighting Katsina State as a hub of culture, heritage, and economic growth while promoting peace and development across West Africa.
