Kebbi State Governor in Northwest Nigeria, Nasir Idris, has approved the payment of over N585 million naira in tuition fees for 100 students studying in various universities in India.
This move demonstrates the governor’s commitment to education and his dedication to fostering knowledge acquisition in all fields of study.
According to the Commissioner for Higher Education, Alhaji Isah Abubakar Tunga, the students in India are pursuing science-related courses, including medicine and nursing sciences.
Additionally, 25 students from Kebbi State are studying in Egyptian universities under an Egyptian scholarship program, with the Egyptian government covering their tuition fees and the Kebbi State government providing for their upkeep.

Governor Idris’ administration has shown a strong focus on education, with investments of over N10 billion in the sector within the past year.
This includes paying for NECO and WAEC fees, as well as providing financial support for students studying in tertiary institutions.
