Kebbi Assembly impeaches Speaker, Deputy
Members of the Kebbi State House of Assembly have impeached the Speaker, Sama’ilah Abdulmuminu Kamba and his Deputy, Muhammad Buhari-Alieru by a two-thirds majority.
The members also elected a new speaker, Muhammed Abubakar Lolo, and deputy speaker, Muhammed Usman Ankwai.
Clerk to the Assembly, Usman Ahmad Bunza, who stated this in a brief statement made available to journalists said, “The two House leaders were found to have committed impeachable offences, hence the reason to relieve them of their posts with immediate effect.”
The reasons for their impeachment were, however, not stated in the statement.
