The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has bestowed eight prestigious awards on Kebbi State for its outstanding organisation and management of the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage.
The awards recognise the state’s exemplary performance in various areas, including sacrificial animals (Hadaya), accommodation, transportation, feeding, luggage handling, airport screening, and publicity.
The Executive Chairman of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Faruq Aliyu Yaro, attributed the success to Governor Idris’s support and presence among pilgrims at Arafat.
Notably, the state government covered the cost of sacrificial animals for 3,871 pilgrims and ensured their smooth stay at Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah.
The Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Sama’ila Muhammadu Mera, who led the government delegation as Amirul Hajj, was also commended as the best-performing Amirul Hajj from Nigeria.
The agency has pledged to build on this success while expressing gratitude to security agencies and stakeholders for their contributions to the smooth operation.
This achievement underscores Kebbi State’s commitment to providing exceptional services to its citizens, particularly during the sacred Hajj pilgrimage.
