Kogi State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed Justice Henry Adebola Olusuyi as the chairman Kogi State Anti-Corruption Agency following the recommendation of the Executive for consideration.

He was nominated along side two others; Dauda Onimisi and Tseja Azubuju who were supposed to occupy the posts of Director Operation and Director Administration respectively in the same agency, but were unable to appear before the parliament for screening and confirmation.

Justice Olusuyi was the former Chief Judge of the State as he acted in that capacity for years, delivering justice to the people of the state.

While answering questions before the parliament “the Committee of Whole” he lauded the governor for establishing the agency, explaining that he would be gentle and firm in handling the affairs of the State, declaring that corruption is a menace everyone must fight “ if we don’t fight corruption, corruption will fight back, it is the business of everyone of us to see that corruption is dealt with. Nigeria is a blessed country but something is not right when it comes to the issue of corruption.“

Speaker Aliyu Yusuf who doubles as the chairman “Committee of the Whole” urged Justice Olusuyi to create new methods to curb corruption alongside the mandate of the current administration. After adopting the report of the committee he declared “The nominee is found suitable and qualified to serve as chairman of Kogi State Anti-Corruption Agency.”

At the end, the other two nominees Dauda and Tseja have been scheduled to be screened next week. The House’s intentions are to provide capable hands to man the agency and to bring cases of corruption to the barest minimum in Kogi State.
