Kogi State Commissioner for Finance, budget and economic planning, Mr. Idris Ashiru Asiwaju, says President Bola Tinubu’s administration has achieved national cohesion by protecting minority interest in its recent national appointments.
Speaking to Voice of Nigeria on Sunday, in Lokoja, North Central Nigeria, Mr Ashiru said the Tinubu administration has shown a sense of fairness in political appointments across all regions of the country.
He noted that “these appointments reflect national unity and geopolitical balance, with certain political offices that were previously dominated by the ethnic majority now being occupied by northern minorities.”
“The appointment of Professor Joash Ojo Amupitan as INEC Chairman and Lituenant General Waidi Shaibu as Chief Of Army staff was received with great joy and appreciation across the state. This is a clear affirmation of your confidence in the capabilities of kogi state indigenes and your commitment to an all-inclusive government that recognizes talent from every corner of the Nation.
“These appointments are a testament of your visionary leadership, detrabilized disposition and your dedication to harnessing the potential of all Nigerians for National development. I am particularly grateful for the opportunity provided to our kinsmen to contribute their expertise, knowledge and experience to your Renewed Hope agenda,” Mr Ashiru said.
While commending the President on the key appointments to indigenes of Kogi State, he expressed confidence in the ability of the appointees to serve Nigeria meritoriously, given their professional integrity and track record of service:
Mr Ashiru added that he had no doubt, that these appointed individuals would serve the nation with utmost dedication, integrity and diligence, thereby justifying the trust being reposed in them to make Kogi state proud.
