Mrs Ododo appreciated the women for supporting her husband by voting overwhelmingly for him during the last governorship election.
She noted that her visit to the hospital was a promise fulfilled and a testament to her commitment to touching the lives of women and children, especially the vulnerable in the society.
She stressed that the gesture was aimed at alleviating the financial and medical challenges faced by the vulnerable groups and putting smiles on their faces.
The governor’s wife commended the hospital staff and management for taking good and adequate care of the pregnant women, nursing mothers, and patients at the hospital.
Ododo promised to extend the gesture to other hospitals across the state, as well as touching the lives of the vulnerable women and children at the grassroots.
“I am here to support our pregnant women, nursing mothers, and vulnerable patients in this hospital, and I am urging you to continue to support and pray for my husband for him to succeed,” she said.
The governor’s wife advised the women to respect their husbands, continually support and pray for them, as well as have a good relationship with their children.
She further reaffirmed the commitment and dedication of her office to improving the lives of women, children, and vulnerable and underprivileged communities.
Earlier, KSSH Chief Medical Director (CMD), Prof. Adagiri Yahaya, commended Hajia Ododo for the gesture in reaching out to patients at the hospital from time to time.
The CMD also extended his gratitude to Gov. Ahmed Ododo for his unwavering support to the hospital and the people, especially the vulnerable.
“We are inspired by your presence here today, and we assure you of our commitment to continue to offer quality healthcare services to the people of Kogi State and its environs,” Yahaya said.
Mrs Hauwa Abubakar, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed their gratitude to the governor’s wife for reaching out to them during the festive season, saying it would go a long way to ease their financial burden.
The relief items donated included antenatal kits, toiletries, essential supplies, provisions, drugs, cash gifts, and others.
