Kogi State Legislators have lifted the suspension placed on the Kabba/Bunu vice chairman Bimpe Alfred by the chairman of the council Moses Tolorunleke.
The decision was taken during the plenary session led by the Speaker Mathew Kolawole on Tuesday at the Speaker’s lodge in Lokoja, Kogi state capital.
After so much debate the legislators concluded that the vice chairman be reinstated while the house will ensure she appears before the committee on investigation to be probed and punished if found guilty of any allegation.
The Member representing Igalamela constituency Barr Cosmos Ilemona noted that chairmen lack jurisdiction to suspend or sack vice chairmen, that to achieve this they must follow due process and make it legal ‘’if there is any issue, they should approach the House that has the power of impeachment, he should be told what the law says and instructed properly…’’
In the same vein, a petition has been submitted to the House by the legislator representing Ogori Magongo Constituency Olafimihan Adejola demanding the suspension of some councilors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for alleged gross misconduct, anti-party activities during March 18th elections.
He implored the house to do the needful and punish them accordingly if found guilty.
Among those councillors are Eunice Ezekiel, Bernard Aturu, David Ejika, Sunday Ajaguna and Atiku Abubakar. In response the House has invited the councilors for questioning.

Also, the Chamber received a notice of removal of secretary to the Local Government in Igala mela\ odolu Yunusa Rilwan for gross misconduct by the legislative council and replaced by Onoja James who has been scheduled to appear for screening.
At the end of the plenary session member representing Okene II constituency Ahmed Dahiru has been elevated to the post of the Majority Leader of the House following the resignation of Murktar Bajeh in a motion moved by the deputy speaker Momoh Rabiu.
