Kogi reference hospital will reduce medical tourism- Commissioner

The Kogi State government in North Central Nigeria says at the Central Reference Hospital, will reduce medical tourism which has put undue pressure on the country’s foreign reserve.

The State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo said this after a tour of the project to track the progress of work at the Central Reference Hospital, Okene.

He said “The Hospital is tipped to be the best hospital in Nigeria when completed. All the facilities for the hospital have been imported into the country.

“The Yahaya Bello Administration said it will make Kogi the Medical Tourist Center of Nigeria with similar hospitals close to completion across the 3 Senatorial Districts of the State . 

“The Reference Hospital, Okene will serve as the Confluence University of Science and Technology Teaching Hospital.”

Mr. Fanwo disclosed that the projects will be be commissioned later this year by President Muhammadu Buhari.
