Kogi State Assembly Confirms 15 Commissioners

Kogi State House of Assembly has screened and found 15 commissioners, nominated by Governor Usman Ododo eligible to take various positions in his cabinet.

Immediately the governor took oath of office, he began setting up his cabinet, by announcing the name of the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Folashade Ayoade, who will continue serving and later sent names of 16 commissioners and aides to be considered to the eighth parliament.

The Speaker, Aliyu Umar Yusuf in his address to the House declared “…according to the provision of the constitution of Federal Government of Nigeria 1999 as amended, confirmation of State House of Assembly is required for the appointment to the office of commissioner of the government of state”. Then he proceeded to call the names of those who will be confirmed.

The names of the commissioners screened in the Chambers are : Mohammed AbdulMutalib, Salami Ozigi-Deedat, Sunday Faleke, Muzi Yinusa Abdullahi, Kingsley Fanwo, Fatima Momoh, Rabiatu Okute.

Others are: Farouk Danlami, Adams Abdulazeez, Timothy Ojoma, Joseph Oluwasegun Stephen, Mohammed Yusuf, Basiru Abubakar Gegu, Asiwaju Asiru Idris, Abanika Taiye, some are new while others are returning.

Governor Usman Ododo had immediately commence serious work, as the people of Kogi are looking up to him to strengthen the institutions the past governor had created while designing his own.
