The contract for the renovation of Kogi Assembly Complex has been officially awarded by the state government with the contractor charged to ensure quality work.
The Kogi State House of Assembly Speaker, Aliyu Umar Yusuf charged the contractor at a ceremony in Lokoja the State capital to abide by the terms of the contract indicating eight weeks of completion, noting that his leadership would not accept a shoddy job.
He praised the current administration under His Excellency Governor Yahaya Bello for marching his words with action, assuring that the Assembly would ensure quality legislation when the renovation work is completed.
The Speaker “The Assembly is poised to come up with quality laws that would improve the standard of the entire state, recalling that it was as a result of the fire incident of 10th October 2022 that the complex became inhabitable for serious legislative business, forcing the lawmakers to resort to the use of the Speaker’s Official Lodge as the venue of sittings”, he declared.
He however reassured the executive arm of the cooperation of the Assembly that will engender the rapid development of the state.
