Kogi State: Collation of Off-Cycle Governorship Election Results Begins

Collation of the Off-Cycle Governorship Election results in Kogi State north central Nigeria has commenced at the INEC, Headquarters, Lokoja..
Declaring the session open the state Resident Electoral Commissioner Dr. Gabriel Lonpet said results of 15 local governments are ready for presentation, while 6 others are on the way.
He urged all stakeholders to exercise peaceful conduct as interruptions would not be accepted.
“If you have any complaint as CSO, Party Agents among others, please reserve the comment till the end.
“Conduct yourself in such away that we will have a peacefully end,” he said.
The Chief Returning Officer, Professor Johnson Urama of the University of Nigeria, Nsuka, promised to be impartial in conducting the session.
“The whole exercise isĀ about promoting the interest of Nigeria and Kogi State without bias.
“All complaints should be with all sense of responsibilities,” he advised.
Eighteen Political parties are contesting the governorship election in Kogi state. The state has 21 local government areas.
