Kogi State Governor Signs N582.4bn 2025 Budget Into Law

The Governor of Kogi State has signed the N582.4 billion 2025 budget appropriation bill into law.

In a statement published by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Yabagi Mohammed, the Speaker, Aliyu Yusuf, noted that the House had carefully reviewed the 2025 budget estimates, ensuring that the Governor’s proposals aligned with the state’s financial demands.

Governor Ododo presented the proposed budget to the Assembly on December 3, 2024, outlining the estimated income and expenditures for the 2025 budget, tagged “Budget of Inclusive Development.”

The Speaker acknowledged the Governor’s diligence in managing the State’s finances and pledged the House’s support in achieving inclusive development in Kogi State.

The Speaker also appealed to the Governor to extend developmental projects to various state constituencies through the legislators.

He declared that the budget was succinctly examined before it was presented for assent.

“The House commends your Excellency for your diligence on the state’s finances in accordance with budgetary provisions. It is my pledge that the House will, in its usual spirit of unity, provide the needed legislative support in ensuring the achievement of the desired inclusive development of Kogi State while also appealing to your Excellency to spread your proposed inclusivity of development in Kogi State to the various State constituencies.

“In the light of the foregoing, I am pleased and highly humbled by this singular opportunity to present to your Excellency, after dutiful legislative considerations and passage, the 2025 Appropriation Bill for your assent,” he said.
