Kunle Afolayan Unveils KAP Film Village, Resort in Oyo
Renowned Nigerian actor and filmmaker Kunle Afolayan has officially launched the KAP Film Village and Resort, a versatile cultural and cinematic hub situated in the serene town of Igbojaye, Komu, within the Itesiwaju Local Government Area of Oyo State in southwest Nigeria.
Spanning over 60 acres of natural landscape, the film village is a fusion of artistic expression, tourism, and Yoruba heritage. Designed to function both as a resort and a full-fledged film production hub, it has already served as the backdrop for major Netflix titles including Aníkúlápó and Ijogbon, solidifying its place in Nigeria’s growing cinematic ecosystem.
Speaking at the unveiling, Afolayan said the initiative was born out of a vision to promote indigenous storytelling while also contributing to national development.
“We didn’t just build a location; we built a destination. The KAP Film Village is a centre built to help build the country.”
“This place is a testament to what is possible when creativity meets purpose and vision,” he said.

“This is a beautiful edifice and a great initiative. It has the potential to become one of Nigeria’s top cultural and tourist destinations.”
Veteran actors such as Jide Kosoko and Femi Adebayo have also expressed their admiration for the film village, describing it as a landmark achievement for the Nigerian film industry.
Despite the achievements, Afolayan acknowledged infrastructural challenges, including unreliable electricity supply and poor road access.
“We’ve come this far without much government support, but to take this to the next level, we need help—especially in improving the roads and power supply,” he said.
With the KAP Film Village, Kunle Afolayan has not only created a new benchmark in Nollywood production spaces but also a cultural sanctuary that celebrates Nigeria’s artistic legacy.
