Kwankwaso to Join ADC

A major political realignment appears imminent as the leader of the Kwankwasiya movement, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso is set to defect from the New Nigeria Peoples Party to the African Democratic Congress.

The announcement was made in a statement by the spokesperson of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Dr. Habibu Mohammed, who confirmed that all arrangements for the defection have been concluded.

According to him, Kwankwaso, described as the Supreme Leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, will formally register with the ADC on Monday, March 30, 2026, at his residence, Gidan Kwankwasiyya, located along Miller Road in Kano, by 12 noon.

The movement has directed its members nationwide to immediately begin registration with the ADC in their respective wards, local government areas, and states.

Supporters were also urged to actively participate in party activities and contribute to its growth and success.

He described the move as a strategic decision taken in the best interest of the movement, Kano State, and Nigeria at large, emphasizing a continued commitment to democratic values, good governance, and the collective will of the people.

The Kwankwasiyya Movement reaffirmed its unity and resolve, stating its determination to play a leading role in building a more inclusive and progressive Nigeria.

It would be recalled that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf recently decamped to the All Progressives Congress APC from New Nigeria People’s Party NNPP sparking reactions and counter reactions within the Kwankwasiya whose leader is also dumping to join ADC.
