The Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said the party remains hugely popular in the state particularly in Baruten Local Government the home state of the former Minister of Sports and Transportation, Bio Ibrahim.
The party said the entire community as well as Dr Jamila Bio, biological daughter of the former Minister who is currently serving as Senior Special Assistant on SDGs to the Governor, are fully with the APC.
The party was reacting to reports that the former Minister has decided to pitch tent with the hugely unpopular PDP under which the region suffered so much in the area of human capital and infrastructural development development.
The APC said Alhaji Bio’s decision is purely personal and totally unrelated to community development and popular good.
“Whereas we do not want to lose any member of our party, Alhaji Bio Ibrahim has a right to his ambition to contest for the Senate and under the platform of his choice. The APC however retains its right to also urge every party member to put the interest of their communities first particularly as the APC Administration is performing well.
“It is reassuring indeed that the daughter of the former Minister and the entire Gure Gwasoro community have firmly decided to keep faith with the APC along with Baruten LG and the entire Kwara North senatorial district as they are witnessing unprecedented good governance through infrastructural development and effective, equitable representation at state and federal levels.
“The party specifically notes the development of new roads, hospitals, renovation of schools and particularly the establishment of the first State Radio station in Kwara North located specifically in Baruten LG, “ the party stated in a statement issued today.
The party therefore urges party members in the state to continue to support the programmes and activities the Government and the party.
