Kwara Assembly Unveils Names Of 18 Commissioner Nominees

The Kwara State House of Assembly, North Central Nigeria, has unveiled the names of nominees Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq intends to appoint as commissioners in his cabinet.

Four out of the nominees served in the first tenure of Gov. AbdulRazaq.

They include the immediate past Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Saadatu Modibbo-Kawu (Ilorin South); Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Ibrahim Sulyman (Ilorin West); Commissioner for Special Duties, Bosede Olaitan Buraimoh (Oyun) and former Commissioner for Energy, Aliyu Sabi Kora (Baruten).

The names of the nominees were contained in a letter by the Governor addressed to the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Yakubu Danladi Salihu and read during a plenary session held on Monday morning.

Other nominees on the list are the former acting General Manager of the state Social Investment Programme, AbdulQowiy Olododo (Ilorin East), Sheu Ndanusa (Edu), John Bello Olanrewaju- (Moro), Usman Lade (Patigi), Damilola Yusuf (Isin), Afolasade Justina (Ekiti), Segun Ogunshola (Ifelodun), Engr Abdulganiyu AbdulAzeez (Asa), Dr Amina (Offa), Bola Olukoju (Irepodun), Audu Batta (Kaiama), Hauwa Nuhu (Ilorin West).

Governor AbdulRazaq, however, transmitted another letter to the House requesting for the withdrawal of two names of 20 commissioner-nominees earlier sent to the House.

Names of the two Commissioner nominees withdrawn by the governor were not announced.

The governor had earlier sought legislative approval for ten Special Advisers.
