Kwara Central PDP leaders meet, seek party’s unity, success

The Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kwara Central held a critical stakeholder meeting on Sunday in Ilorin, the State capital.

At the meeting hosted by the Kwara Central PDP Senatorial chairman, Alhaji Ishiaq Owolabi, the party leaders deliberated on relevant issues, including unity of the PDP, the state of governance in Kwara State as well as preparation of the Party for the 2023 general elections.

PDP elders and stakeholders at the meeting were present, including the former National Chairman of the Party, Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje, Alhaji Ishola Balogun Fulani, and Barr. Saka Isahu, Alhaji Oba Ajara, PDP State Secretary, Alhaji Rasaq Lawal, and the party’s Kwara Central senatorial candidate, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi.

Also in attendance were Ilorin East/South House of Representatives candidate; Hon. Wahab Issa, Alhaji Saka Kutujifu, Hajia Sarat Adebayo Ibrahim, Iya Kwara, Alhaja Nimota Ibrahim, the PDP woman leader, Alhaja Risikat Abdullahi, among other party stakeholders from the four local government areas that make up Kwara Central – Ilorin West, Ilorin East, Asa, and Ilorin South.

In his address, Alhaji Owolabi urged for peace and unity among the stakeholders while calling for support for all candidates of the PDP in the next year’s general elections.

For his part, Baraje said the forthcoming elections would revolt against bad governance, insecurity, poor handling of the economy, and hardship caused by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara and the country at large.

He added that the PDP represents the hope of the masses and can rescue Kwara from retrogressing and Nigeria from sinking further in 2023. Baraje called on leaders of the PDP to come together and work for the success of the Party across all levels in the elections.

Also, the Peoples Democratic Party Kwara Central Senatorial Candidate, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, said there is a need for party leaders and members to put their differences behind them and unite in the Party’s interest and the people.
