Kwara Governor Commiserates With VON’s Correspondent Tunde Akanbi On Mother’s Death

The Kwara State Governor,  Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has  commiserated with the State Chairman,  National League of Veteran Journalists (NALVEJ) , Alhaji Tunde Akanbi and his family on the death of their matriarch, Hajia Falilat Akanbi-Oriokoh. 

Akanbi is also the Kwara State Correspondent of the Voice of Nigeria. (VON).

Governor Abdulrazaq urged the popular broadcaster to be comforted by the exemplary life of service to God and humanity of his mother.

The Governor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye similarly extended his condolences to the Ori-okoh compound of Ilorin Emirate on the development, which came only a few weeks after they lost an illustrious daughter Hajia Aminat Ibrahim, wife of the nation’s Chief of Defense Staff, CDS Admiral Saad Ola Ibrahim.

He payed to Allaah to grant Alhaja Falilat and all our deceased brethren al-jannah Firdaus, and uphold the family upon goodness.

Similarly, the lawmaker representing Kwara Central in the National Assembly, Senator Saliu Mustapha, has condoled with a former chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Kwara State council, Alhaji Tunde Akanbi, over the demise of his beloved mother, Hajia Falilat Akanbi-Oriokoh

In a statement issued on Wednesday by his media assistant, Nasif Sholagberu, Senator Mustapha commiserated with the entire Akanbi family, including the children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all those mourning this irreparable loss.

The Senator urged the veteran journalist and other family members to find solace in the impactful life of service, humility, and love that Hajia Ajibike Akanbi lived, noting that her enduring legacy will continue to inspire all who knew her.

He prayed to Almighty Allah to accept the deceased’s return, forgive her shortcomings and grant her a place in Al-Janat Firdaus.

In a related condolence message, the Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly,  Mr Yakubu Danladi-Salihu sympathized with Alhaji Tunde Akanbi, a veteran journalist over the passing of his mother, Hajia Falilat Akanbi.

Hajia Falilat the matriarch of the popular Akanbi family in Ori Okoh quarter of Ilorin died yesterday at the age of 90.

Mr Danladi-Salihu urged Alhaji Akanbi to take solace in the legacy of Hajia Falilat, a virtuous woman who dedicated her life to the service of God and humanity.

The Speaker prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed in Aljanat Fridaos and comfort for all those who mourn this painful loss.
