The newly constructed Ilorin Innovation Hub, according to Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, is intended to empower young people and inspire them to use their creativity for the benefit of the state’s economy.

The governor’s message was delivered by the State Commissioner for Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Afees Alabi, during the 3rd Annual Conference of the Sheikh Abdulsalam Islamic Dawah Foundation, themed “Social Media in the 21st Century: Issues at Stake.”

The event was attended by notable figures, including the Leader of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Barrister Abdulkadir Oba Magaji, and other dignitaries.

Governor AbdulRazaq urged the youth to take a keen interest in technological innovation and maximise the opportunities provided by the innovation hub to contribute to the state’s economic growth.

Eschew Internet Fraud

He also advised the young Islamic scholars present at the event to eschew internet fraud and seek wealth and fame through lawful means.

Dr. Alabi emphasised the governor’s investment in the innovation hub to support technology, entrepreneurship, and innovation, ensuring that Kwara youths are 21st-century compliant.

The commissioner highlighted the administration’s commitment to mentoring young leaders by entrusting them with key leadership positions.

“My principal, who I am representing here, is delighted to be in the midst of young Islamic scholars, who have enjoyed nurturing and right mentorship of our foremost Islamic scholars.

“The theme for discussion here today also aligns with what the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is doing, that is, the newly commissioned Ilorin Innovation Hub.

“This is providing our youths ample opportunity to channel their creativity positively and for the development of our state.”

At the conference, Dr. Afees Alabi was honoured with an award of excellence, which he dedicated to Governor AbdulRazaq for his efforts in preparing the youth for future technological advancements and entrepreneurship.
