Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has received the award of “Most Gender Friendly Governor In Nigeria” from the Kwara State council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).
The award ceremony climaxed the three-day Press Week of the Kwara State council of NUJ.
Responding after receiving the award, Governor AbdulRazaq, restated his commitment to women inclusiveness in the running of the state’s affairs.
He said the enactment of Kwara State Political Offices Gender Composition Act by Kwara State House of Assembly was to provide a legal framework for women to be engaged in decision making process in the state.
He challenged women folks to always exhibit their potentials and managerial traits to expunge them from disadvantaged segment of the society.

Chairman, Kwara State NUJ, AbdulLateef Ahmed, described the honour done Governor AbdulRazaq as well deserved.
The Chairman Planning Committee of the Press Week, Shettima Abdul-Azeez Arowona, said that the award recipients were honoured for their immeasurable impacts in the society.
Meanwhile, the Chairman, Kwara State Council of NUJ, Comrade Abdul-lateef Ahmed, described NUJ award for Governor Abdulrazaq as most gender friendly as well deserved in all ramifications since the inception of his administration.
Comrade Ahmed appealed to the Governor to amend the Civil Service Laws to enable workers in the State Parastatals reach the pinnacle of their careers of becoming a Permanent Secretary as obtained by their colleagues in the State Ministries.
