Kwara Govt Launches Free Surgical Outreach Programme

The Kwara State Government has launched a special outreach programme, to provide free Obstetric Fistula repair surgery, for female genders, suffering from fistula obstetrics, across the State.

The official flag off took place during the week, at Aisha Buhari Mother and Child Hospital, Eyenkorin, in Asa Loca Government Area of the State.

At the event, the State Commissioner for Health, Dr Amina Ahmed El-Imam emphasized much on the current administration’s commitment to eradicating Obstetric Fistula among women folks, reiterating further its efforts aimed at enhancing the well-being of Kwarans, through various health initiatives.

Dr. El-lmam therefore urged beneficiaries to strictly adhere to health care consultants’ instructions, to aid optimal recovery.

Also lending a voice, a member of Kwara State House of Assembly, representing Owode Onire district, Asa Local Local Government, Rukayat Shittu, commended the State Government for the initiative, adding, “it will impact positively on the well being of the less privileged,” assuring government of continued support from the State House of Assembly, for such commendable efforts.

A beneficiary who preferred anonymity, expressed her gratitude to the State Government, for providing her with a relief, therefore prayed for God’s guidance on Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq led administration.

In a separate development, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Amina Ahmed El-lmam and her team visited a family in Ikokoro compound, Ilorin, on account of a suspected food poisoning.

The Commissioner extended her heartfelt sympathies to the family and directed that the Public Health Department conduct a thorough investigation into the matter, to ascertain the cause, with the aim of guiding against such occurrence in future.
