Kwara Gov’t urges residents to embrace cleanliness

The Kwara state government has urged residents to embrace environmental cleanliness to promote a healthy living.

The state Ministry of Environment urged the people of Kwara to participate in the monthly sanitation exercise as well a way to achieving this goal. This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Yakub Aliagan, the Press Secretary, Ministry of Environment.

The statement reminded the residents that the general monthly sanitation holds on the last Saturday of each month from 7 a.m to 9 a.m.

“You are hereby enjoined to fully participate in the sanitation exercise by cleaning your residential and business environments.

“There will be no vehicular and human movement across the state, within 7 a.m to 9 a.m on that day,” the statement read.

Aliagan emphasised that the monitoring agencies would be on ground to ensure compliance across the state.

He stated that waste management trucks would be on the streets for waste collection and disposal at the final dump sites.
